African Rainbow Snake: Heal Us!
I slithered into existence
During a night of yellow rains in the Rand
I caught the rainbow in the palm of my hand
The rainbow became my inner eye
I no longer see people in black and white
Everyone has become multi-coloured,
a reflection of the rainbow
Now I slither past pandemics,
bankruptcy and poverty
Into new beginnings in our land!
