Biography

Alexis Daniel Onguene Tassi (born 1995 in Bafoussam) is a contemporary Cameroonian visual artist whose practice explores themes of identity, resilience, labor, cultural memory, and the socio-economic realities of contemporary Africa. Based in Douala, his work reflects a deep engagement with the lived experiences of African communities, examining the complexities of everyday life through a powerful and expressive visual language.

 

Onguene Tassi earned a Master's degree in Visual Arts and Art History, specializing in painting, from the University of Douala. His academic training provided a strong foundation for a practice that bridges technical mastery with conceptual inquiry, enabling him to develop a distinctive artistic voice that resonates across cultural and geographical boundaries.
