This sculpture is assembled from found suburban artefacts,mostly objects of security, surveillance and division.Together, they create a particular aesthetic that is veryfamiliar to South Africans, and yet pushed to the edge of ourconsciousness so that it doesn’t tax our day-to-day living.The resulting object becomes a symbol of securitisation,imparting a kind of semiotics of risk and alarm
