SKIN, BONE, FIRE: THE FIRST ALBUM: Philiswa Lila in conjunction with the Alliance Francaise

Her artworks are multi-disciplinary – she makes use of paint, installation, performances and writing.  Most of the objects used in her installations and performances can be connected to forms that fit bodies.  This linkage with bodies serves as a recording of stories – it links past experiences with the present.

The Alliance Française is a world-wide non-profit, apolitical and non-religious network that strives to promote French language and Francophone cultures.  It serves as a French teaching centre with a far-reaching cultural program, that includes art, music and theatre.  It functions with the support of the French embassy and the French institute of South Africa; it also works in partnership with various local companies and cultural bodies.
